Adam E. Anderson is a designer and artist currently based on the East Coast. He holds a BS in landscape architecture from the Ohio State University and an MA in landscape architecture from RISD, where he was an Olmsted Scholar. Anderson’s academic research deals with the entropic use of sediment waste for large-scale terraforming and cultural redefining of the ideology of nature. He has worked professionally in southern California and Boston and on projects throughout the US and abroad. He is currently a designer for Landworks Studio in Boston and founder of the studio/blog Design Under Sky.
Markus Berger Associate Professor, Graduate Program Director, Department of Interior Architecture, Rhode Island School of Design. MArcus is a co-founder of the department’s Int|AR journal, Markus Berger holds a MArch (Diplomingenieur für Architektur) from the Technische Universität Wien, Austria, and is a registered architect (SBA) in the Netherlands. Prior to coming to the US, Berger worked as a designer in Austria, New Delhi, India and New York. He taught in an art and architecture school in Karachi, Pakistan, where he also collaborated and exhibited as an artist. Berger then became a project architect and designer for UNSTUDIO in Amsterdam and worked on several international projects. He currently heads a design firm in Providence, IO Design Inc., which maintains an innovative practice with a focus on designing space where traditional boundaries between the inside and the outside are broken down and transformed, drawing nature, art and spirituality into spatial design.
